TV, You're So Predictable

So two protagonists just had the worst day ever and sit down on the sidewalk and one tries to comfort by saying "At least it can't get any worse..." What happens next?

I'm sure 95% of you are saying, "It rains, of course." If you got that then you are familiar with a trope. This is called Cue The Rain. A trope is obviously something that has occurred so many times that you can expect it to happen given enough information.
